FAQS - Online Maths Tutor
Q: Do you only tutor A Level Maths?
While I specialise in A Level Maths and Further Maths, I also offer GCSE Maths tuition. Whether a student wants to improve grades, secure a pass, or prepare for the step up to A Level, lessons are tailored to their goals.
Q: Are lessons online only?
Yes, all tuition is delivered online. This makes scheduling flexible and convenient, while interactive tools like whiteboards, screen sharing and recorded explanations ensure lessons are as effective as in-person tuition.
Q: Can I book daytime sessions?
Absolutely. Daytime sessions are ideal for sixth form and college students who want focused study during free periods, extra support alongside lessons, or dedicated exam preparation. Evening and weekend sessions are also available for students with busier timetables.
Q: How is tuition personalised for each student?
Every student learns differently. I start by assessing strengths, weaknesses and goals to design lessons that target individual needs. Sessions combine clear explanations, practice questions and exam-focused strategies to build confidence and understanding.
Q: Can you help with exam preparation?
Yes. I support students with A Level exam technique, revision planning, problem-solving, and preparation for university entrance assessments. GCSE students also benefit from tailored revision and confidence-building strategies.
Q: How quickly can I expect results?
Many students notice improved understanding and confidence within a few weeks of regular lessons. Progress depends on lesson frequency, engagement and starting point, but personalised tuition consistently delivers measurable improvement.
Q: Do you only teach students who are struggling with maths?
No. In Brighton and Hove, I also work with high-achieving GCSE and A-Level students aiming for top grades. Many of these students already excel academically and use tuition to further develop their problem-solving skills and secure A/A* results.
Q: Do you support students aiming for Oxbridge or other top universities?
Yes, I’ve worked with students in Brighton and Hove from strong academic backgrounds preparing for competitive university applications, including Oxbridge and other leading UK universities. Our tuition focuses on developing advanced mathematical reasoning accuracy and the ability to tackle challenging exam questions at a high level.
