Finding the right maths tutor can feel overwhelming. There are thousands of maths tutors in London, all offering different levels of experience, qualifications and support.

I'm Ivan and rather than being matched with a different tutor each time, every lesson is taught directly by me.

I provide online maths tuition for students across London studying GCSE Maths, A-Level Maths, Further Maths and preparing for entrance exams.

An Experienced Maths Teacher

I'm a qualified maths teacher with more than 20 years of classroom and tutoring experience. During that time, I've worked with students studying GCSE Maths, A-Level Maths and Further Maths across a wide range of abilities.

My approach is simple. I focus on helping students understand the subject properly, build confidence in their own ability and develop the skills needed to tackle unfamiliar questions in exams.

What Parents Say

"Ivan is an amazing tutor. He has years of experience with both GCSE and A-Level and has taught all my boys. My son is neurodiverse and Ivan has built a rapport with him and is now achieving a grade higher than before. He has more confidence and this is definitely down to the quality of tutoring he is receiving. I would highly recommend Ivan to anyone who's looking for a tutor." Meike Jones

Frequently Asked Questions

My child understands maths in class but struggles in exams. Can tuition help?

This is actually very common. Many students understand a topic when it's explained to them but find it harder to apply that knowledge under exam conditions. Lessons can focus on exam technique, question interpretation and developing confidence when tackling unfamiliar problems.

Is A-Level Maths much harder than GCSE?

For many students, yes. The jump from GCSE to A-Level Maths is one of the biggest changes in the curriculum. Topics become more complex, the pace increases and students are expected to apply their knowledge in greater depth. Tuition can help students make that transition more comfortably.

My child is predicted a good grade. Is tutoring still worthwhile?

Not all students who have tuition are struggling. Some are already doing well and use lessons to strengthen weaker areas, prepare for exams, or work towards the highest grades possible.

What happens if my child doesn't know what they're struggling with?

That's completely normal. Often students know they're finding maths difficult but can't pinpoint exactly why. Early lessons help identify gaps in understanding and focus on the areas that will make the biggest difference.

My child hates asking questions in class. Will online lessons work?

Many students actually find it easier to ask questions in a one-to-one setting than they do in a classroom. Having dedicated time to work through problems without worrying about keeping up with the rest of the class can make a real difference.
